The Spirituality of Work

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

Jobs, work, employment, and careers. We’ll discuss all these topics in this blog. We hope to step away from the typical conversations, however, so we can tackle these issues from the important perspective of the “Spirituality of Work.”

Without some divine level of intercession, there’s hardly a chance any of us would be where we are right now in life. Our lives and careers literally brim with tales of “happenstance and circumstance.” There’s so much of it that, for some of you, you might even describe your career as a “Chance Career.”

Yes, a lot of your career probably seems to be random and capricious — but that’s almost certainly not the whole story!

As you follow our blog, we hope you’ll reach an understanding that, while many (seemingly unplanned) things have happened along the way to make your career what it is today, none of it was actually random or capricious. God has ordained a path for your life. And although you have free will and are able to make choices, His Holy Spirit and His angels have faithfully been at work, interceding prayerfully and guiding you every step of the way.

God has a plan and a purpose for your life (Jer 29:11).

So stick with us. We’re calling the blog “Career Goodies!” It will include all the good stuff you’ll need to know to see and understand the spiritual nature of your job, work, career and life each day!

Your work and your knowledge, skills, talents,, and abilities are all gifts from God for you to enjoy as you serve Him and the people He puts around you each day of your life.

Pray for us — your prayers are at the heart of the spirituality of your work.

Start praying for us today. Pray for others that you encounter throughout the day too. And we’ll be praying for you.

And, oh yeah … LIKE our page on Facebook too and follow us on Twitter!

In Christ!
